Ford Motor Company has announced, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the introduction of new parking and personal radio apps for SYNC with AppLink.
The first one is called Parkopedia and will enable drivers to search through 15 million parking spaces located in 3,000 town and cities in 20 countries across Europe. The app will use a constantly updated database and allows parking searches by closest/cheapest location and availability.

The second application - AUPEO! - enables users to discover music by artist, genre, or period from more than 200 radio stations worldwide. Drivers will also be able to personalise the service and access their music history.

“Customers want to integrate their personalised digital lives into their daily drive to ensure they are as connected and streamlined on the move as they are the rest of the day,” said Paul Mascarenas, Ford’s chief technical officer and vice president of research and innovation. “These new AppLink partnerships significantly extend the growing range of smartphone apps drivers will be able to access by voice while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.”

During the same event in Barcelona, Ford launched the “EcoSport Live!” campaign with a free YouTube concert featuring 10 up-and-coming acts. During this campaign, the company will loan up to 100 new EcoSport vehicles to music, fashion, food and sports bloggers from ten European countries.
