The American carmaker repeatedly underlined that versatility is one of the main features of the new Ford F-150. That's why the company launched the new SVT Raptor, a new model which does nothing more than to confirm the aforementioned attribute. Basically, the new truck was specifically designed for off-road performance and desert racing, Ford said in a press statement, with several features that enhances these two environments.

First of all, the new Ford is powered by a 5.4-liter Triton V8 three-valve engine which releases a maximum power of 320 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. In addition, Ford said that a new 6.2-liter V8 engine will be released after the launch of the car but avoided mentioning other details such as the maximum output or the fuel consumption.

But as we've mentioned straight from the beginning, the new SVT Raptor was especially designed for extreme conditions, so off-road features are extremely important. That's why you should probably know that Ford's F-150 SVT Raptor comes with Trailer Sway Control, Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, Hill Descent Control, Off-Road Mode and Auxiliary Switch Board as standard.

According to a Ford press statement, the new F-150 will be exclusively manufactured in Dearborn, Mich alongside the basic model of the car.

“Ford trucks have been a mainstay on the off-road racing scene for more that 20 years because of our long history of capability and durability,” said Derrick Kuzak, Ford’s group vice president for Global Product Development. “With the F-150 SVT Raptor, we are delivering a true off-road performance truck with the proven ‘Built Ford Tough’ capability and durability that is at the core of every F-150 and the best in performance thanks to the team at SVT.”
