Ford Hopes Obama Won't Cheat

Ford is the only large automaker in the United States who's still surviving without government support and the company's is really proud of this, especially given the fact that both GM and Chrysler have filed for bankruptcy. But GM's Chapter 11 filing still makes Ford officials raise an eyebrow when it comes to the future company as government's majority ownership might change the way the automakers in the United States challenge each another.

Although Obama's Task Force emphasized the government won't get involved and won't take advantage of the stake it owns in General Motors, some officials are still afraid that the New GM might become a bit more competitive than expected.

"We look forward to working with the Obama administration to ensure that the government's majority ownership of GM will not change the industry's competitive dynamics and that a level playing field will be maintained," Ford said in a statement for the press issued today.

"We share President Obama's hope that GM's bankruptcy will be controlled and orderly, and we continue to believe it is important that our governmental leaders and the U.S. Automotive Task Force remain focused on the stability of the supply chain and on ensuring that a healthy U.S. auto industry emerges from this difficult economic period."

Meanwhile, Ford will still remain focused on its very own revival plan, with new models likely to support the company's goal to survive without accessing government funds. In addition to the already fuel-efficient product range consisting of Ford Fusion, F-150, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKZ, Ford will also debut some new green models, including Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKT and Transit Connect.
