Ford Performance is currently doing the final tweaking on the racing incarnation of the new GT supercar, which brings us plenty of opportunities to dig deeper into this delicious Le Mans nod.
We’ve all been longing for some actual racing footage, so the Blue Oval complied, giving us 50 seconds of the GT lapping the Daytona International Speedway. At the center of the GT, sits Ford Racing’s V6 EcoBoost engine, with this setup having been chosen as a beaten path.

As those of you following the motorsport world know, Ford has been powering its racing dreams with the help of the twin-turbocharged motor for a while now, with the engine motivating their Daytona Prototype.

Sure, there are some differences between the configurations of the engine and, for the moment, it’s too early to get into the details. Sure, we can see the side exhaust of the GT, a feature that’s not present on the Daytona Prototype, but we’ll have to wait to find out more.

However, the newly-released footage is a good opportunity to compare the soundtrack of the two machines. This is why we’ve added two extra videos below, with the clips showing the Daytona Prototype in action.

You’ll be able to enjoy the aural treats offered by these machines from both outside and inside the racecars. And while we take our own sides here in the office, we want you to be the judge of this decibel competition.

Ford has already announced the 2016 racing schedule for the GT, with the racecar scheduled to compete in both the United SportsCar Championship as well as the World Endurance Championship.

We will be treated with a four-car line-up, with the machines set to be put through their paces by a factory team handled by Ford’s current partner Chip Ganassi Racing, as well as businessman Felix Sabates.
