Ford Fusion Hybrid Livery Sedan, Built by Royale

With the avalanche of electric vehicles gaining strength, there was only a matter of time until this segment of the automotive industry got more diversified. This time, American manufacturer Royale announced the Hybrid L, of the Hybrid Electric Livery Vehicle (HELV) line...

Royale is using a patented method to cut a hybrid vehicle of any make in half and stretch it to increase rear legroom by 20 percent.

For the purpose-built Hybrid L we are talking about here, Royale focused on a Ford Fusion Hybrid. According to the manufacturer's data, it provides some 95 percent more rear legroom than the Lincoln Town Car Executive L.

The Modifications brought to the Fusion Hybrid included extending the chassis and the rear doors, as well as fitting it with "many luxury upgrades; Royale has created the first purpose built HELV."

Royale will offer several version of the Hybrid L, including the Police and Taxi. Both have enough room to install a partition for driver safety. For the Taxi version, the rear doors have been modified by blocking the partitions view from the outside.

"Bridging the gap between luxury transportation and affordable fuel efficiency the Hybrid L (L for extended length) by Royale is the most fuel efficient large size livery or taxi Hybrid sedan," the manufacturer said in a release.

No modifications have been brought to the vehicles hybrid system. The Fusion, modified in this way, has a fuel consumption rating of 41 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
