Once a global wonder, the Ford Focus is now but a pale shadow of what it used to be – a nameplate to be reckoned with and ready to brawl with Toyota’s Corolla for the global best-selling title. Alas, these are the hard automotive times that we live in.
Codename C519, the fourth-generation Focus – also known colloquially as the Ford Focus Mk IV, was revealed more than four years ago in sedan, hatchback, and station wagon form. Unfortunately, the new iteration brought sad news with it – the demise of the nameplate in major regions such as North and South America, Southeast Asia, and others.

Today, its limited reach covers the Old Continent as well as other places such as China, Taiwan, and Australasia. Still, even if there is less global love for the series nowadays, that does not mean it is any less enticing for virtual automotive artists. Case in point, Kleber Silva, a Brazil-based virtual artist known as KDesign AG on social media, has returned to Europe for a quick Blue Oval stint around the world.

More precisely, although the current Focus has already been refreshed in the real world by the U.S. automaker exactly two years ago, the pixel master proceeded to give it yet another, unofficial redesign. This time around, though, his vision is a bit larger and wide-encompassing, as the CGI expert decided to take advantage of the new styling premiered with the Chinese Evos crossover and fifth-generation full-size Mondeo (formerly Fusion in North America).

Interestingly, this makes the compact Ford hatchback a kind of cross-regional mutant, sporting the five-door body style of a European Focus as well as the looks of a Chinese Mondeo or GCC’s (Gulf Cooperation Council) new Taurus.

So, what do you think – should Ford update the Focus yet again with Mondeo/Taurus cues to make it more mature, especially since there are no fears of model overlapping as both the Mondeo and Taurus have been retired from their traditional markets?
