The Texas Transportation Institute's Urban Mobility Report shows that the Los Angeles and San Francisco-Oakland metropolitan area come in third and seventh places, respectively in terms of congestion (among US locations). According to Ford, this allows a Focus electric owner to save an average of USD1,464 in fuel costs.

In addition to that, the Focus Electric is now a part of the California Clean Vehicle Rebate Program, which means that the car is eligible for the state;s new USD2,500 rebate, which adds to the standard USD7,500 federal tax incentive offered for all green cars on the market.

“Californians have a legacy of embracing electric vehicles”, said Ford’s global director of sustainability and vehicle environmental matters John Viera. “Programs like the Clean Vehicle Rebate provide an excellent incentive for the continued adoption of electric vehicles," he added.
