A long amount of time passed since the Blue Oval took the veils off the 2015 F-150, but now we finally got the online configurator every perspective buyer has been waiting for. Word of warning before you start kitting your next light-duty truck: it might get hideously expensive if you go too far with it.
Ford kept customers on the tip of their toes, trying to maximize the hype surrounding the 2015 MY F-150. No wonder why - its groundbreaking feature is the high percentage of military-grade aluminum alloys used to make various parts of the chassis, body shell and the bed to prevent rust formation.

$26,615 (including $1,195 delivery) will buy you the least expensive 2015 Ford F-150 - the base XL that boasts with a 3.5L V6 engine with 283 horsepower and 255 lb-ft (345 Nm) of torque on tap. The basic XL comes with a regular cab, rear-wheel drive and a 6.5-foot bed. When properly equipped, the 3.5-liter V6 XL can tow up to 7,600 lbs and haul 1,910 lbs.

But if you have money to burn on the range-topping Platinum, then you're looking at a tiny dribble over the $52,000 mark, which is almost $3,000 costlier than the 2014 model year Ford F-150 Platinum. As expected, this bad boy comes with a lot of toys and comfort offered as standard, but you can spend way more than that on various optional bits and bobs.

Other than the 3.5-liter V6, the 2015 Ford F-150 can be equipped with an all-new 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost with 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft (508 Nm), a 3.5-liter EcoBoost that replaces the old 3.7-liter V6 unit, as well as an updated 5-liter V8 powerhouse if you plan to tow heavy stuff here and there. There's a lot to find out about the new Ford pickup truck, so why not follow this link and start configuring it now?
