Ford has published a teaser video of Gymkhana Nine, but in a format that you couldn't experience with the official release of the clip.
Instead, Ford has made a VR/360-degree experience out of Gymkhana Nine, and it is all on camera. In other words, you will be able to see the latest of Ken Block’s series of stunt videos from all angles.

Ford was not generous with details about its latest Virtual Reality experience, but it did publishe a teaser video. The same video shows a safety briefing of the film crew, which was instructed to be always ready for Mr. Ken Block to pass them at any time, so they had to be prepared to shoot the 2016 Ford Focus RS RX as it drifted through the “industrial playground.”

As usual with VR/360 videos, the viewing angle is different than with “regular” clips, which means that you will not see some things as clear as you would with HD footage. Instead, the VR experience allows the viewer to focus on different aspects of the film, instead of the usual frames.

Evidently, you will not feel like you were there, but you get an unusual view of what went on in the filming process. Users can get an exclusive preview of Gymkhana Nine through the FordVR app, which is available on iOS and Android. Expect the full film to be available on YouTube when it is published.

As you already know, Ken Block’s Gymkhana 9 was released yesterday, and it features the American driver’s World RX Championship car, a 2016 Ford Focus RS RX, which provides 600 HP and 898 Nm (663 lb-ft). This video marked the first time when Block took his rallycross car to the street, and it appears that he had a magnificent time with it.

Unlike the previous Gymkhana, the makers of the video didn't feature a teaser of the next car they are going to use. This means that Block could appear in just about any Ford for the next video of the series.
