Ford has pumped up the Fiesta ST’s engine to 200 HP and provided the model with extra go-fast bits. The car has been showcased at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, and we have a photo gallery to prove it.
The new Fiesta ST200 is showcased next to the entire range of Ford performance cars, including the Ford GT road and race cars. The latter model is displayed in both road and race versions for the first time in Europe.
Ford’s smallest performance vehicle came to this year’s Geneva Motor Show with 10% more power and a torque enhancement of 20%. Those are great percentages when it comes to improving the engine of an affordable hot hatch.
Along with the additional power and torque, the Fiesta ST200 received a new exterior color (not the one in the photo gallery), a new interior, and 17-inch alloy rims with an elegant finish and design (you can see them in the image gallery).
Furthermore, the Fiesta ST200 promises improved drivability and a more engaging drive thanks to its shortened final drive ratio.
Ford predicts that the Fiesta ST200 will be a future classic, and promises that the new version of their hot hatch will take the distinctive car to a new level of performance. Given the enhancements to the suspension, steering, and braking systems, we can predict they are right on this.
The ST200 version of the Fiesta came instead of an RS variant. The latter was rumored for some time, but Ford officials have shot down any possibility of a Fiesta RS on the current generation.
The most powerful Ford Fiesta ever available to the general public will be available at selected Ford dealers in the coming months. Production will start in June, and the first deliveries will take place this summer. Naturally, the first customers to receive their brand new Fiesta ST200s will be those who get to preorder the model.
