While Europe, the Middle East, and Africa enjoy the perks of Ford’s all-new Fiesta Mk8, the Blue Oval continues to offer the Mk7 in North America. For the 2018 model year, there’s one upgrade worthy of mention.
“Fun to drive and nimble-handling, Ford Fiesta adds a standard rearview camera for all trim levels for 2018,” says the automaker in the 2017-2018 Ford Vehicle Guide. “All other model features carry over,” and that’s basically it. In other words, expect both the sedan and hatchback to carry on with the tried-and-tested 1.6-liter Ti-VCT and the 1.6 EcoBoost in the case of the FiST.

Considering the 2018 Ford Fiesta ST comes with 1.5 liters and three cylinders, the sound of the 1.6-liter EcoBoost should make it an appealing choice as a hot hatchback. As for the regular Fiesta, the naturally aspirated 1.6 makes do with 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. Beyond the six-speed PowerShift tranny, a good old stick shift is also available. If five forward gears are one too few, the go-faster ST pushes the envelope with a six-speeder.

In total, there are 10 exterior colors to choose from, as follows: Shadow Black, Oxford White, White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat, Orange Spice Tri-Coat, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Outrageous Green Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Bohai Bay Mint, Lightning Blue, Ingot Silver, and Magnetic. As for the interior, two colors are available: Charcoal Black and Medium Light Stone.

Hill-start assist, remote keyless entry, six speakers, and a CD player come as standard, as do air conditioning, carpeted floor mats, SYNC infotainment, and tire pressure monitoring system. The options list consists of few goodies, including SYNC 3, power moonroof, voice-activated satellite navigation, and so forth. On the subject of packages, there are three available for the Fiesta: Cold Weather Package, SE Appearance Package, and the ST Recaro Package.

Just like in 2017, the 2018 model year consists of three trim levels considering the FiST is a different entity from the run-of-the-mill Fiesta. These are the entry-level S, mid-range SE, and the range-topping Titanium.
