Ford F-150 with S-Type Face: Why Jaguar Should Never Build a Pickup Truck

Being America’s best-selling truck for 37 years straight and also holding the title of America’s best-selling vehicle for 32 years in a row, the Ford F-150 has seen its fair share of odd customization jobs. Nonetheless, we may have just come across one of the worst ever, which gives us a... crossbreed with a Jaguar.

Alas, the... J-150 you see in the adjacent images is real, which means that somebody thought it was actually a good idea to perform some plastic surgery on their Ford, transforming it into a Jaguar.

The front of the car is all Jaguar S-Type, while the front apron seems to be a modified BMW X5 apron.

Wait... haven’t we heard the Ford-Jaguar issue before? Of course, we have, it all had to do with the X-Type. Back in the early 2000s, when the British marque was owned by Ford, they released the X-Type, which was basically a re-skinned Mondeo. The front-wheel drive bastard lovechild went out of production in 2009, but its bad reputation remained.

It is only recently that Jaguar managed to solve this compact executive issue, as the carmaker has introduced the XE at the Paris Motor Show. We’ll just have to wait and see what impact that has on the market.

While the big cat company fortunately isn’t working on any pickup truck, we’ll remind you they are on track to giving us an SUV crossover. Based on the C-X17 Concept, this will arrive in 2016.
