Internet mashups are getting crazier by the day, so, as much as we like to try and predict such renderings, that has become pretty much impossible. Case in point, the piece of machinery in the image above.
What we have here is a classic Ford F-100 that has been given a Formula One approach. Does this make any sense? Not really, but we see ourselves forced to admit that we can't take our eyes off this virtual contraption.
And that's not just because the rendering comes from one of our favorite digital artists, YasidDesign. Oh no. This four-wheel creature (we'll get to the importance of the wheel number in a minute) has plenty of assets to keep our mind busy.
For one thing, the powerplant at its middle is the twelve-cylinder kind, reminding us of the era when Formula one wasn't all about downsizing and less-than-enticing soundtracks.
As we mentioned above, this has ended up being a four-wheeled contraption by accident. As the pixel master explains, this was supposed to be a six-wheeled story.
"Another Mutant Inbound Racer. F1ORD. Initially was to be more of a classic finish as well as being a 6-wheeler, but hey, variations ftw. I believe the classic would be more of a Tyrrell P34 6 wheeler inspiration. Gonna be fun!" the rendering creator said, explaining how this oddity came to be.
However, the best thing about this dream is the perspective of some crazy garage out there turning it into reality. Truth be told, we don't see that possibility as being that far of a stretch, but we'd expect it to come from outside the US.
Australia. That's the kind of approach we see for this project. After all, spanner bearers from Down Under always love solving complicated mechanical jigsaw puzzles, so we could expect them to come up with such a piece of metal.
