The Tharg is not exactly a new bike, but we figured you'll enjoy it as a reminder of the clear-sky, warm summer days you used to spend riding on your fav roads. So here's Andy Russel's Tharg, a custom made streetfighter with a Ford Granada engine.
One of the most interesting things about the Tharg is that it was a no-budget bike, rather than a low-budget one. And this meant having to constantly cope with a ton of compromises and re-engineering everything the good-old DIY way.
And when flour sifters and similar household items come to the custom motorcycle game, one would justifiably expect to see a funny-looking rat machine. Much to our delight, the Tharg is an extremely neat and tidy build, compact and rather unforgiving.
There's no gearbox present, so we're dealing with a pretty radical bike, and the very small budget a-only makes everything even more brilliant. So there's your proof that stunning machines don't need to be expensive, too.
