Ford Edge Campaign Kicks Off

American manufacturer Ford debuted today the new advertising campaign for the new Ford Edge, a campaign which will encompass unique print, television and digital advertising for the model. Well, not for the model per se, but for the wide range of technologies which Ford fitted into it, especially the MyFord Touch.

The first in the series of ads comes with the statement “The Edge understands 10,000 word commands.” and ends with “What other car can say that?” The ad, as all other Edge-related ads, will point everybody to the especially created website to support the model.

“We have even better styling and design, and the groundbreaking MyFord Touch technology will change the way drivers interact with their cars,” said Eric Peterson, Edge communications manager.

The Edge comes equipped with two engine choices, a 3.5l V6 and a 3.7l V6. Both use Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) which allows the former to develop 285 hp and 253 ft.-lb. of torque and the latter 305 hp and 280 ft.-lb. of torque.

The features highlighted in this first ad is just one of a whole series of high tech gadgetry on the Edge. No less than 12 such technologies are present, including MyFord driver connect, SYNC, SecuriCode keyless entry keypad, Blind Spot Mirrors, MyKey, AdvanceTrac with RSC, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning with Brake Support and Cross Traffic Alert. They will all be eventually featured in the ads.

“When people are shopping or looking for Edge online, we’ll be there – whether it’s embedded in text or as part of their shopping experience,” Petreson added. “We will be contextually relevant with the way we use all the media channels.”
