With heavy traffic involving all sorts of unexperienced or ill-tempered drivers adding up to the "default" traps of the Nurburgring, Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) events are never calm. However, the session that took place on Sunday brought a special kind of mayhem.
As we showed you earlier today, an oil spill on the track nearly saw a Good (but safety-unaware) Samaritan nearly getting run over by a sliding BMW. But other drivers managed to cause chaos even without the help of a spill.

Let's take the guy behind the wheel of the ex-generation Ford Fiesta ST in the videos below, for example. The hot hatch is seen having trouble and playing by the rules, namely sticking to the right side of the track and letting other cars overtake.

Nevertheless, at a certain point, the driver starts swerving the right as if pulled by a giant magnet. Alas, the move coincides with a Ferrari 458 Speciale approaching from behind.

The supercar carried respectable speed and only a few inches separated the two from what could've been a serious accident. We're all glad the Speciale driver used the track to shave off his speed and then steered clear of brake-steering his way into a slide that could've caused a crash.

Nevertheless, it's probably impossible to watch these piece of footage without wondering what the Fiesta guy thought when he went all right-hander across the track.

Well, a Facebook user who reportedly knows the Ford man tried to explain the mistake on the BridgeToGantry Facebook page: "I can explain this. The guy in the Fiesta is in our group. His engine cut out, he lost steering, brakes and ended up veering to the left. We are going to find the 458 owner tomorrow to explain/apologise,"

When his defense was rejected by other Facebook users rightfully pointing out that losing power steering doesn't mean losing steering altogether, the guy replied: "I respond to every keyboard warrior. That section of the track shown on the video proceeds a hill climb followed by a blind right turn. He couldn't/didn't see the 458 due to the bend and the closing speeds of said car. If anyone is at the Ring tomorrow, feel free to come and talk to us about it,"

Before we invite you to hit the "play" buttons below, here's to hoping those who play the Green Hell game don't also lose their mirrors due to an engine malfunction.
