Ford Driver Loses His Fiesta ST to the Nurburgring in High-Speed Crash

The driver of a Ford Fiesta ST lost his car to the infamous German track earlier this week, with the hot hatch engaging in a high-speed accident.

The piece of footage at the bottom of the page shows the multi-impact Fiesta ST accident, which is nothing short of an agony episode - the most spectacular part of it all sees the Fiesta pulling a massive "drift" with one of its rear wheels having already been bent by an impact with the protection barrier on the side of the track.

So, what caused the mayhem we have here?

Turth be told, the greatest mistake the driver seen here made was to enter the first corner of the respective Ring session way too fast. Given the hefty entry speed, a crash was inevitable, regardless of the car taking the understeer or the lift-off oversteer route (the latter seems to be the case here).

In fact, this ST accident is not unlike the pinball-style Suzuki Swift Sport Nurburgring crash we showed you last month and that's due to the configuration of this Nordschleife area. Sure, the consequences of this Ford accident aren't soft, but things could've ended much worse. For one thing, the Ford still has all four wheels.
