Better to say that you are sorry for failing, rather than not trying at all. That applies to both daring humans and automakers eager to seek revivals of legendary nameplates.
As far as Detroit’s Blue Oval is concerned, it’s a case of trial and error. Remember how its Lincoln premium division decided to bring back the fabled Continental moniker with the tenth-generation installment? Well, if they had been scared of its failure, perhaps the reinvented, sixth-generation Bronco would have been no more.
Luckily, the second-largest American carmaker dared to dream of resurrecting the off-road icon. Now, if that’s the case in the real world, everyone can imagine that virtual artists have even fewer strings attached. As such, while it’s beyond any natural order and logic, how about the failed Conti being given a chance at affordable redemption and being turned into a modern-day Ford Crown Victoria?
The idea comes courtesy of Jim – the pixel master better known as jlord8 on social media. He is becoming a regular in terms of such Ford-Lincoln projects that stem deep from imagination. For example, he recently “Lincolnized” a current Ford Mustang to give the ubiquitous two-door pony/muscle car a premium lease of CGI life.
But it’s also not the first time this digital content creator has trampled into CGI revival territory with Ford’s Crown Victoria. Granted, on past occasions, he just used the Ford gene pool and spliced Mustang or Taurus cues into the virtual mix. With ample success, might we add. But now it’s time for a top-down approach.
