Ford China has sold 93,969 units in October, a whooping 55 percent increase compared to the same month last year, the Blue Oval automaker announced today, adding that year-to-date sales reached 741,818 vehicles, up 52 percent.
Specifically, Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), the company’s passenger car joint venture in China, delivered 70,173 automobile last month, an increase of 61 percent over October 2012, with year-to-dale sales reaching 536,421 examples (up 68 percent). Its best-selling cars were the Kuga (9,406 units), Mondeo (7,805) and the EcoSport (6,484).
In addition, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford’s commercial joint venture, sold 21,724 vehicles, a strong result led by increased demand for the Ford Transit (6,036 units). JMC’s sales are up 19 percent in October and up 14 percent in year-to-date figures.
The Blue Oval company also revealed it has achieved a major milestone in the Asia Pacific region, where it sold one million vehicles for the first time.
