The Blue Oval says the Everest, which was designed in Australia, previews a global production design that will “set a new benchmark among SUVs” and offer exceptional “off-road capability and toughness.”

"This is our vision for a large, seven-seat off-road SUV to allow our customers to take on the world and it was created by our world-class design team here in Australia," said Mark Fields, Ford Motor Co. chief operating officer. “We believe our customers will love the distinctive design, which clearly showcases the Ford Everest Concept's exceptional off-road capability and toughness."

Besides unwrapping the Everest, Ford also confirmed that several global models will be introduced on the Australian market by 2017, including the Mondeo, Mustang, Fiesta ST, EcoSport and Transit.
