The Ford Territory was revealed last year as an SUV model designed and built in Australia. But now, the Territory could become Ford Australia’s export to the Thai market. A production example is already on display at the Bangkok Motor Show, and if public reaction is good, the export deal might go through.
Ford wants to export the TDCi diesel model in Titanium spec, which is powered by a Land Rover 2.7-litre V6 turbodiesel. But export cars in Thailand are heavily taxed, and Ford Australia says it only expects to ship 100 a year.

“There’s a possibility for introducing the Territory to the Thai market,” says Ford Australia spokesman Neil McDonald. “It’s certainly an opportunity we’re looking at. It’s a toe in the water, according to Car Advice. “The show car will be a [range-topping Territory] Titanium; they’re looking at high-end models specifically.”
