Ford and Brembo Come Closer

There are certain names that spell “performance” whatever automotive component they are written on and the Brembo brakes supplier certainly is one of these. Now, the Italian brakes producer has been included in Ford’s Global Aligned Business Framework (ABS).

This is a list of suppliers that are selected by the U.S. corporation with the aim of a long-term cooperation based on a close business relationship.

Brembo was named an ABF supplier as Ford consolidates global vehicle platforms and engine architectures while increasing part commonality across its product line. Ford is growing in its traditional home base of the US and Europe to the emerging markets of Brazil and China, where sustained growth is forecast over the coming years,” stated the press release.

ABF companies debut a long-term relationship with Ford to tighten their collaboration, in order to increase their profitability and share technology.

Brembo maintains a manufacturing presence in 12 countries on 3 continents. Along with other preferred suppliers in the ABF, Brembo will be able to build an even closer relationship with Ford, including the opportunity - in a long-term scenario of partnership and research - to share information on new products and business plans. The aim is to collaborate with Ford in developing a global portfolio of high quality automotive products,” stated the press release.

Brembo currently supplies brake discs for the Focus, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ and brake systems for the Mustang Shelby GT 500 and Ford Mustang GT (optional) in the U.S.
