Force India Officially Parts Ways with Colin Kolles

Force India's former team principal Colin Kolles has officially parted ways with the Silverstone based organization during the course of this week, as announced by a statement from the team. The Ingolstadt-born official was inactive in his role with Force India throughout the 2009 Formula One season, as he focused on his organization in the DTM.

At the end of last season, as part of Force India's restructuring plan, Kolles was announced by team owner Vijay Mallya that his services will no longer be needed in 2009. However, the German official remained team principal for the team in the papers, although no longer in the team's garage.

According to a statement from Force India yesterday, Kolles was extracted from the team's paycheck scheme as of this week.

Dr Kolles has been associated with the company since the Jordan Team was acquired by Midland Racing, then by Spyker, and subsequently by the present owners. Dr Kolles was personally associated and enabled the sale and purchase of the team and has assisted the various owners of the company in running the team since 2005,” said the statement.

Dr Kolles has held positions as team principal, director and the managing director of the team during his tenure. We thank Dr Kolles for his contributions during his term and wish him success in his future endeavors,” added the press release from the Silverstone based team.

Colin Kolles will continue to focus on his DTM team, while also set to remain a team owner in the Le Mans Series and the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans.
