Force India Bring Major Updates to Singapore

Force India have progressed incredibly during the past couple of grands prix, as the Silverstone based outfit has gotten from bottom of the table to podium contenders in a matter of weeks. Of course, the development behind these performances has been long-term, but the team's burst towards success looked all of a sudden for the majority of the F1 fans.

Giancarlo Fisichella powered to pole position at Spa out of nowhere, after which he scored a 3rd place in the race. Adrian Sutil upped his game accordingly and, one race later, he qualified on the front row of the Italian GP and scored an impressive 4th place. In addition, teammate Vitanonio Liuzzi had no problem getting into Q3 and driving a safe point-scoring race until his unfortunate engine problem caused him to stop.

As things seem to be getting better and better by the race weekend, Force India have announced a new series of updates for the Singapore Grand Prix. And, since every time the Indian team brought something new to the table things moved into the right direction, team owner Vijay Mallya has every reason to feel optimistic about the Singapore package also.

I'd hope we could be again in Q3 and racing for points. We have a new upgrade coming, which features some modifications to the bodywork, the diffuser and the front wing. Every upgrade we've introduced so far this year has really given us a step forward so I am hopeful that we will be able to maintain our recent run of form,” said Mallya in a preview for the Asian night race.

We do know however that it's going to be tough as Spa and Monza were low downforce tracks and Singapore demands higher levels but we've set the bar high now. We need to keep pushing until the end of the season,” added the Indian billionaire.

According to a press release from Force India, the new changes brought to the VJM02 this weekend will include a new front wing package, bodywork modifications - including changes to the mirror mountings - bladed rear wheel spinners, front bargeboards and a diffuser and an engine cover update.
