For the Purist Drifter: 1986 Toyota Corolla Sport GT-S for Sale on eBay

Drifting is not what is used to be, let's say, 20 or 25 years ago. It goes the same for the cars used for this art/discipline, but who would say no to an old lady like this 1986 Toyota Corolla Sport GT-S Hatchback aka Hachiroku (86 in Japanese)?

We wouldn't, to be honest, and we bet drifting aficionados would share the same opinion. So here's what you need to know about this sideways-travelling granny.

Mileage is reported as just under 90,000 miles (144,841 km), and although the Corolla GT-S is apparently well cared for, it does show a fair amount of small dings and scratches. Just take your time to scroll through the photo gallery and you'll see what we mean.

As you step inside the cabin, everything looks surprisingly good, in almost mint condition. Up front, the little 1.6 4AGE engine is completely standard from the air box to recently replaced NOS exhaust – the second to last left in the US, according to the dealer where it was purchased.

Here's what the current owner has to say about the car in the eBay ad:

"This car is adult driven, well maintained and has never been modified, raced, drifted, and or abused. The car has a Clean Title, Clean Car Fax, No Accidents, and has been in California its whole life with its original front and rear 1986 California Sunrise Plates. This car is considered by many enthusiasts/purists as an iconic classic Japanese drift machine sought after by many due to its light chassis (approx. 2300 lbs), front engine reliable 4AGE 16 valve DOHC 1.6 liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated, equipped with front and rear wheel disc brakes and rear wheel drive."

So far, 15 bids were placed, and the current one stands at $9,700. Happy bidding!
