Car Throttle's videos are made by people who didn't study any Latin and enjoy playing with iPhones and drones more than reading a good book. In short, this video comparison between the AWD Focus RS, the FWD Civic Type R and the RWD BMW M140i is perfect.
If you have about GBP 31,000 burning a hole in your pocket, you are faced with either a very hard decision or one that's already been made. Sure, the Focus RS is the most fantastic hot hatch short of an A45, but we completely understand if the appeal of a 3-liter BMW wins you over. Likewise, the bonkers styling and precision handling of the Civic Type R is hard to argue with.

The review is split up into two parts. First, all three cars are allowed to set four timed laps. It's amusing to see that they are timed using the famous "mate with an iPhone" method, but that's the way anybody would have done it in the real world. And in any case, nobody is going to argue with the open differential of the RWD BMW being a problem in the wet or that the Focus RS has lots of traction.

After the winner is decided, the cars are drag-raced with the victor once again being the AWD Focus RS. We highly recommend watching the behind the scenes video as well. It's about 10 minutes long and shows the CT crew cleaning the cars early in the morning. Meanwhile, the BMW M140i arrives on a trailer. The lads are all having a laugh, and we catch a glimpse of a fascinating Suzuki Wagon R crew car wrapped in purple and chrome.

Apparently, the key to drifting the M140i is to let go of the wheel and grab it again. "Wow, I am a drifting god," Alex says after the discovery. Slow motion shots of the wheels spinning on water? Yeah, they've got that too, so there's no reason not to watch it.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
