There's nothing wrong with seeing cars through a rich imagination filter now and then. And we're not talking gold-wrapped supercars or hideous donks.
You don't have to be a master in digital art to enjoy Renaud Marion's hovering cars, but you must have some petrolhead DNA in your genes. I mean, only true connoisseurs would appreciate a wheelless Jaguar E-Type or a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL hovering above the asphalt.
But these are the superstars of the industry, models wanted by many but only found in select garages owned by the world's wealthiest figures. So, how about some floating affordable cars?
Sylvain Viau can help you with that, as the French photographer must have got inspired by Marion's work and decided to take things to a low-cost level.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting his work isn't good enough. In fact, it takes a hefty dose of skill to turn a Toyota Aygo into a flying car, or a Peugeot 206.
Sylvain got the idea by looking at Citroen models from the '80s, known for their smooth handling and complex hydraulic suspension systems, nicknamed 'flying carpets'.
The artist also owns two Citroens featured in his photo-manipulation work: the 1984 Cx Gti Turbo and the C6. After turning the former into a motorized flying carpet every Alladin would afford, he moved on to other models: BMW 530d Touring, Fiat X1/9, Lancia Beta Coupé 2000 and Alfa Romeo 156 SW.
