Wasn't Lexus that company making cars for old people? As if the brash design wasn't enough, the company also made a couple of new performance cars this year, followed by a Back to the Future-inspired hoverboard.
Not surprisingly, the SUV lineup has become more adventurous. We remember how old commercials for the RX were about cruising in the city with zero emissions. But the latest ad from Australia could pass for a scene from The Italian Job or Fast and Furious 7.

Lexus teamed up with skydiver and Base jumper Jeb for its new RX commercial. He and his friend jumped from the back of a plane at 12,000 feet and glided with pinpoint accuracy using "squirrel suits" onto the back of a transport truck.

The idea is to show the heist of the century, where one guy forces the transport truck to stop, and the other simply steals the SUV. Unfortunately, nobody will believe the new RX is a modern version of the "Eleanor" Ford Mustang. Also, there are a couple of other loopholes. For example, renting a big aircraft and wasting a couple of good parachutes is not worth a crossover. We wonder how the guy landing on the back of the trailer started the vehicle without a key and how the guy who sat in front got away from the angry truck driver.

Other than that, we're dealing with a complex and very dangerous stunt that you should never attempt on your own… unless you have the latest GTA V mods.

We can forgive Lexus for every possible mistake because this commercial was also filmed with a 360-degree camera. So like the latest trailer for the Warcraft movie, you can change the view with one simple click.

The downside is that life with your next hybrid Lexus model will seem boring compared to this commercial, at least until the next cataclysm, alien invasion or James Bond movie happens.
