Fly Racing's New Tourist Helmet

Here's a new lid form Fly Racing, called Tourist. Basically we're looking at a classic open-face helmet with an added chin bar. No helmet engineering breakthrough indeed, but a nice helmet all in all, especially for those on a tight budget or as a first one.

A DOT-approved thermoplastic-polymer allow shell with Coolmax washable (therefore removable, too) comfort liner protect your skull, together with the EPS shielding. A very nifty option is that Fly offers the possibility to load in custom-size cheek pads for the best and most comfortable fit.

We're not quite sure how much damage can the pop-in chin bar withstand. If it's not a steel bar in a very strong fixture like the Schuberth J1's, each of these looks more like a mental comfort-oriented option. The Fly Tourist chin bar looks pretty good and compact, however.

Optional anti-fog, dark tint and clear double lens “for extreme cold” (a Pinlock emulation?) are also available. The soft fleece bag is included in the package, and the Fly Racing Tourist helmets come in size XS to 2XL. MSRP is a nickel under $120 (€90).
