Floyd Mayweather had four of his luxury toys burned to the ground, one of which was a highly customized Jeep Wrangler. He invested approximately $100,000 in the off-roader’s aftermarket upgrades, but it all went down the drain. However, it didn’t take much for the five-division retired boxer to get back on track and order a better 4x4 that he could add to his eccentric car fleet.
The trailer that burst into flames was transporting Floyd’s Bentley, two Rolls-Royce and the customized Jeep Wrangler about a week ago when something went wrong and it caught on fire. Pictures of the aftermath showed how most of the vehicles burned to the ground. Most likely, the luxury cars were insured, but even so, we’re pretty sure Mayweather was infuriated by the unfortunate event.
There’s no word on what actually happened that night, whether it was an arson attack or an accident, but it appears the champ didn’t wait for things to blow over to get right back to what he loves most: buying cars.
As we were telling you guys earlier this week, Mayweather recently paid a visit to Alex Vega, the owner of a Miami-based custom shop. It’s the same place that took care of his other Jeep Wrangler, so it was only natural for the retired boxer to go straight to the same location with his new 4x4 ride.
On the outside, the new car looks quite similar to the Jeep that, unfortunately, burned down to the ground. On the inside, however, there’s this crocodile leather finish that was designed in the same colors the retired boxer’s TMT company has. Call us pretentious, but this is not quite the best choice when it comes to upgrading the interior of a Wrangler. Perhaps all the Jeep fanatics out there will agree with us on this one.
Speaking of crocodile leather, do you know how big the alligator and crocodile farming business really is? We’ll probably have PETA trolling this post soon, but we've found that, in Louisiana alone, alligator farming is a $60 to $70 million industry.
