A real boxing veteran that happens to be a five-division world champion gifts a brand new Chrysler 300 to his protégé to show his appreciation for the fighter’s ambition to one day become the best. Now that is what would have made for a great television commercial for the full-size luxury car produced by the American automaker.
Now, to be completely honest they did star a bunch of celebrities in the last years to promote the Chrysler 300, but we’ll talk about them a little later.

First, let’s take a look at the car for a second. From the very beginning, when Ralph Gilles designed it in 2001, it was meant to be a high-end sedan. Last year’s facelift came with a couple of changes that include full speed range Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking and some other.

As we all know, Floyd Mayweather could easily make for one of the greatest car collectors alive. There is no supercar model he didn’t have. Because of that, we found ourselves writing about the champ on numerous occasions. This time around, we’re witnessing a premiere, considering he didn’t buy a car for his tremendous auto fleet but as a gift for his protégé.

Meet Ashley Theophane, an English professional boxer who competes in the light welterweight division. The 34-year-old fighter first went to Las Vegas when preparing for his bout against Steve Williams. The fight never happened as Steve pulled out injured but the two weeks he spent at the Mayweather Gym changed his life. One thing led to the other and the next thing you know, Mayweather takes Ashley as his protégé, offering him the best training opportunities and chances to be successful in the ring.

Getting back to the commercials we were mentioning, we’ll remind you that Chrysler produced three TV gigs as part of the 2011 Chrysler 300 advertising campaign. All of them starred big celebrities like Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, John Varvatos and Dr. Dre himself. Therefore, we figured that Mayweather gifting Theophane a new car would have been a great advertorial too.
