All the 17 years it was under Volkswagen's management, Bugatti never made a penny, but that never stopped successful sportsmen or music record managers from buying the top of the line Veyron. Last time we counted, Floyd Mayweather had three of Molsheim-made hypercars. The five-division boxing champ is no storyteller; three is not a lucky number for this fellow.
The roadster version of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has plenty of things to talk of, but the real reason Floyd Mayweather bought this one must be the open-top driving. Considering its stellar performance and evil power, the fact that the passengers are directly exposed to the sound of the engine and the four turbochargers must be worth the money.

Three years ago, Bugatti would unveil its then latest version of the Veyron at the Geneva Motor Show, and it didn’t take long for the one percent club members to have their heads turned. Necks would hurt as this beast is hard to focus on when on the road. It’s even faster than each of the Veyrons already sold out.

In 2013, the Grand Sport Vitesse made a powerful statement that once again proved why rappers dream of waking up in one. The supercar set the world speed record for the brand, hitting the 404.84 km/h mark. It’s then when the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse officially became the fastest production roadster in the world.

0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 2.6 seconds, 1,200 horsepower, 1,100 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque - these are just some of the numbers that make this a hell of a ride. Floyd Mayweather says this is his new spin and that he paid $3,498,000 for it. Judging by the looks, the hypercar was customized up to the point of beast mode.

As we said, if our memory is still working to its full performance, then we are looking at Money’s fourth Bugatti. However, if the Veyron’s successor eventually sees the light of day, you should expect the retired boxer to get one of those too.

P.S. - Yes, he's holding a magazine that has the same picture on its front page.
