Florida Motorist Received 50 Traffic Citations in One Day

Some motorists don't receive a citation in their entire driving lives, while others manage the performance to get 50 in only one day.

According to The Associated Press, a man from Boynton Beach, Florida received 50 traffic citations in one day and was consequently arrested. The 46-year-old man later identified as Elvis Alonzo Barrett ran away from the cops while they were trying to stop him for a traffic violation last week. Since fleeing from the cops is not an easy task to do, the chase brought even more traffic violations.

Therefore, Barrett had to run through red lights, crashed into another car and finally into a fence. Following his actions, he was issued no less than 50 traffic citations with charges like fleeing, eluding, speeding, running red lights, not wearing a seat belt and reckless driving.

As if all these weren't scandalous enough, police said they also found crack cocaine and a crack pipe in his car. In addition, they explained that Barrett has already a lengthy criminal history and his driver license was suspended.

So far it is not clear whether the man was driving under the influence but the drugs in his vehicle represented a sufficient excuse to make him run away from the police. However, what the man didn't seem to realize on the spot is that in reality, one can not escape the cops the way a gamer does in the Need for Speed Undercover. Of course, he wouldn't get away with the drug possession, but if he stopped from the very beginning, he would have avoided the other charges.

By the way, 50 traffic citations in only one day is a record for the Guinness Book?
