One driver from Florida got a really bad case of the munchies and decided to grab a bite even if he didn’t have a dime to pay for it. He still had some weed left and he figured it would do.
23-year-old Anthony Andrew Gallagher was arrested in Port St. Lucie after an employee at the McDonald’s Drive-Thru called the police to say somebody offered to pay for his food in weed – and then drove off without paying when his offer was rejected.
And the story of Gallagher’s arrest gets even funnier: although he had managed to get some food without paying for it and without parting ways with his weed, the dude returned to the same McD’s a while later. Of course, he didn’t know that police were waiting for him, but still.
The statement from the police, which was posted on social media and is also available at the bottom of the page, doesn’t say whether he wanted to get more food – or, for that matter, if he wanted to offer to trade it for weed again.
“PSLPD was called to the McDonald's located in the 3100 block of SW PSL Blvd. The McDonald's worker told police that a man in a Pontiac 4dr drove through the drive-thru of the McDonald's trying to exchange a baggie of Marijuana for food. The McDonald's worker refused and the car drove off,” the statement says.
The police officer remained on the scene and immediately saw the Pontiac return to the scene of the crime.
“PSLPD officer made contact with the suspect and noticed a heavy odor of Marijuana emitting from the car. Police found approximately 11 grams of Marijuana on the suspect. The suspect told police that he did offer Marijuana in exchange for food but that he did so as a joke,” the statement further says.
Gallagher was arrested for possession and DUI and was taken to jail. At least there he won’t have to worry about paying for his food, with cash or weed or anything else.
