You know how they say you can never get the paint to match when you repaint some body parts that were damaged in a car crash? That’s because after the car was exposed to the sun and elements, which changes the pigment ever so slightly, especially if it’s red, a color well know for its fading.
But the problems this owner faces are much, much worse. We’ve shown you this chameleon-finished Audi R8, last year when JustinsSupercars filmed it on a visit in Dubai. Back then, we thought that the so called “flip flop” finish which changed from green to violet was actually a wrap. But it doesn’t appear that way.
Now, 4WheelsofLux has found the same car sitting on a stilt, looking very sorry for itself. Judging by the fact that the finish doesn’t seem to peal away around the impact, we’d say it’s actually paint. Which is very bad news for the owner who should be worried about getting the repairs to match. We could be looking at a full-body respray.
