Project cars take up a lot of time, and not all plans manage to hit the road with their first manager.
In fortunate cases, the owner of the said project car sells it to a more wealthy suitor, and the second person completes the work after turning it into his dream on wheels.

Unfortunately, there are some cases where people work as much as they can, to the best of their knowledge and ability, and they never get to see their dream completed.

Many years ago, a man from Montana started a restoration project on a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45LV. The model is a 1967 Land Cruiser, and only a few thousand of them were ever imported in the USA.

The unnamed man spent about a decade to track down parts for the rare model, including some that you have trouble discovering in the age of the Internet and Social Media.

The restoration project was slowly progressing, but the declining health of the said man led to abandoning the work and selling the vehicle. We cannot imagine the suffering endured by the man that had to drop such a project because of health issues. Fortunately, the car was purchased by a well-established collector, which stored it.

Eventually, FJ Company, a specialist in the classic Toyota Land Cruiser series, was asked to perform a full nut-and-bolt restoration of the off-roader from Japan.

The project was commissioned by a customer from Dubai, who can already pride themselves on the fact that the newly purchased vehicle already has a prize on its belt, the “Family Favorites” category winner at the 2016 Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue.

The vehicle in question still features its original motor and transmission, which makes it even rarer. The people at FJ Company have not specified if the passionate previous owner of the vehicle had managed to see his car completed, but we suspect that it did not happen.

According to FJ Company, you can have one just like it, but with a different story, if you contact them and afford to pay at least $55,000 for a classic Toyota Land Cruiser.

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
