Our kids are now safe - five minivans have recently earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick award, with the vehicles passing the crash test with flying colors, including the roof strength test.
The list of vehicles that recently received the US safety crown includes the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, the Dodge Grand Caravan, the Honda Odyssey, the Toyota Sienna, as well as the Volkswagen Routan. However, not all the tested vehicles received high scores: the Kia Sedona only received a “poor” rating for the roof strength test and the Nissan Quest only comes with an “acceptable” rating.

"Safety-conscious parents shopping for a family hauler should be pleased with today's minivan choices," says David Zuby, the Institute's chief research officer. "At the same time, the ratings show that major differences remain in this segment when it comes to protection in a rollover crash."
