Five Jeep Twitter Contestants Head for the 2010 NYIAS

The Jeep Tweet-to-Win contest hosted on the brand's Twitter page last week found five lucky winners who are now on their way to the 2010 New York International Auto Show to compete and win a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander. The five contestants were the first to correctly answer, in the correct format, the Jeep-branded trivia questions.

The limited-edition Jeep Wrangler Islander is available on Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited 4x4 models. Based on the Wrangler Sport model, the Islander option package is available at a MSRP of $1,120.

The Islander comes in a special Surf Blue Pearl Coat, but customers also have a choice of three other colors: Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Clear Coat and Stone White Clear Coat.

"The 'Jeep Tweet-to-Win' contest is a unique and innovative way to create significant buzz for the iconic Jeep Wrangler and the new special-edition Wrangler Islander," Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, said in a release. "The contest has also enabled Jeep to carry on a two-way conversation with its customers, while noticeably increasing traffic to Jeep.com and our Twitter and Facebook sites."

The five contestants headed to the New York show are listed below:

  • Chris Gross, Shelbyville, IN
  • Casey Johnson, Newton, PA
  • Joel Lounds, Bonita Spring, FL
  • Kevin O'Neill, Wixom, MI
  • Steven Scott, Sterling, VA

On April 1, contestants will dig in a giant sandbox, built specifically for the New York International Auto Show, to find the Golden Jeep Tiki. The first to find it will win a Jeep Wrangler Islander. On the same day, the Jeep brand will announce details on the next phase of this unique Jeep Wrangler Islander promotion.
