Five Euro NCAP Stars for Skoda Yeti

Skoda Yeti is one of the models that received the maximum safety rating from Euro NCAP, following the latest crash tests conducted this week. The Yeti is one of the best of all vehicles tested so far, the Czech manufacturer said today in a release while citing an Euro NCAP statement praising Yeti's safety features.

“Skoda has shown that it provides an equal degree of protection for passengers of all sizes, sitting in various positions (in all seats),” says the Euro NCAP assessment report.

“The result shows our commitment to safety aspects at the development stage that also includes seat geometry tests and the strength of the applied materials. We test various seat settings and work hard to improve the properties of the entire system. To ensure maximum possible protection, the system must be in perfect harmony. We use state-of-the-art technology and test methods, as safety is one of the key aspects in developing new Skoda vehicles,” says Dr. Eckhard Scholz, Skoda Auto BOD member responsible for technological development.

Skoda Yeti is offering a stable body structure made of high-strength steel, which brought it a 92 percent rating in the occupant protection category. It can be equipped with a total of nine airbags and with ISOFIX system for mounting child seats as standard.

"The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact and dummy readings indicated good or adequate protection in all body areas. The knees and femurs were well protected and Skoda were able to demonstrate that a similar level of protection would be offered to occupants of different sizes and those sat in different positions," Euro NCAP wrote in the results.
