Scion’s brand new 2011 coupe, the tC, has gone on sale this October. In order to showcase the tuning potential of the fresh model, the Japanese manufacturer is bringing five stunning custom built models to the 2010 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

The new models will feature a myriad of aesthetic and performance modifications, from sleek lines to bold graphics.

First-off, James Lin’s tC is a race inspired concept with street-cred to boot. Since this is a brand new car, the designer had to create brand new, one-off exterior panels. From the wide body kit created by AA Autoworks, to the carbon fiber hood and trunk, to the new door panels and front fender, not a lot remains of the original car. However Lin wanted to create a car that is still in line with the company’s image. Custom Mix Transtar Gold Paint was sprayed on by AA Autoworks to give it a ricer look. The car now sports DPE Custom R16 wheels, painted in gold with a polished Lip, compliment the body color. The car sits lower to the ground thanks to double-bellows air-over-strut suspension kit fitted.

Shawn Baker has chosen to go for a more sleek looking design. Since Scion has completely redesigned the car this year, the tuner wanted to only make changes that would compliment the look of the car and not interfere with the new lines. Shawn has gone for 19 inch, 3-piece forged race wheels designed by Rotiform. An AirLift electric air ride suspension meant the car is as low to the ground as possible. The standard color was replaced by “BASF RM Nimbus Grey Pearl”.

John Pangilinan built another race car for this year’s SEMA. His design features Rays G2 18 inch Race Wheels finished in flat back and wrapped in TOYO Proxes R888 tires. Almost every panel has been replaced with carbon fiber ones: Seirbon hood with Aerocach hood latches, Seirbon custom trunk, APR rear wing and APR side mirrors. PPG Paint has applied the red, white and back paintjob and graphics.

As Crawford Perfomance’s main sponsor is Scion Racing, we aren’t surprised with the end result. The suspension system has been replaced with Tein Super Racing Coilover springs. Toyo R1R 265/35ZR18 tires, combined with Advan RG-D racing wheels give this one-off better traction. For improved stopping power a TRD Big Brake kit has been fitted. The amazing light and dark gray with lime-green graphics were done by Spin Imaging.

Last but not least, we'll present GReddy’s turbocharged monster which produces 340 hp and a maximum torque of 325 lb-ft. The car comes with a custom intercooler, blow-off valve, intake and exhaust systems. Exterior features include a FIVE -Axis aero package, Scion Optimize rear wing and Volk Racing G2 18 inch wheels.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
