BMW is going to step its game up even further, planning on launching a new commercial that is set to boost the popularity of the M235i to dizzying heights.
Part of the marketing crew was just spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, drifting the wheels off 5 such cars, in a beautiful synchronized ballet in a roundabout. The guys behind the wheel were no amateurs, though.
According to PaulTan, Rhys Miller, Rich Rutherford, Samuel Hubinette, Conrad Grunewald and Daijiro Yoshihara were the drivers, people that know what they are doing. You might’ve seen some of their work if you watched movies such as The Dark Knight Rises and the Fast and Furious franchise.
Even so, as talented and experience as they are, they still couldn’t pull off the perfect drift in the first try. Below, you have two videos, the first one showing their initial attempt and the second showing them in perfect harmony as we’ll probably see the cars in the end result.
From our own experience with the M235i, we found that it has plenty of grip and getting it to go sideways can be a true challenge, especially on dry asphalt. Furthermore, with all the electronics around you might be stopped after a donut or two, being told to go to the nearest BMW dealership. That’s at least what happened to us.
