Fisker has had certain issues lately, with the Karma recalls and the financial troubles, but the company is now decided to move on and is sticking to its plan of presenting a production version of the Surf Concept at the Paris Auto Show this fall.
The shooting brake should reach its first customers by the end of the current year or in early 2013. Speaking of next year, the automotive producer is willing to introduce a convertible version for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The Surf will rely on a battery-electric drivetrain, as well as on a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that will be used as a generator. The vehicle will be produced by Valment, which builds the Karma sedan, with the vehicle expected to be a low-volume model, which means that its total production shouldn’t exceed 3,500 unit over its entire lifespan.
