Fisker Going Bankrupt?

While we were having a little fun with our April Fools "Apple Buys Fisker" joke, which some people took rather seriously, several reports are saying the EV automaker is in deep trouble.
Not surprising if you ask us! Especially since the US manufacturer failed to sell its shares to Chinese giants Dongfeng and Geely, who opted to back out of the bidding process supposedly because of the conditions imposed by the Department of Energy.

Now, just a week later, Fisker had put its entire staff on a so-called temporary furlough, like they were busy doing anything anyway, to save cash and had appointed restructuring lawyers to prepare the company for a possible bankruptcy filing.

Fisker representatives have declined any comment on the situation, but it looks like the prospects are bleak for the Anaheim-based automaker, despite claims of existing talks with "several stakeholders".

Since Henrik Fisker decided to leave the company he co-founded back in 2007 last month, due to "major disagreements with the executive management", we can't help but wonder if Fisker's demise wasn't already sealed.
