When Ford dropped the first official photos and specs of the 2015 Ford F-150, we’ve been completely won over by the latest reiteration of America’s favorite pickup truck. However, we recently had a change of heart after we’ve learned that Fisher-Price will build a ride-on toy inspired by the Blue Oval’s workhorse.
Just look at the thing! It’s so small and cute and has that certain get-up-and-go feel about it. We admit we want one probably as much as we want to drive the uber cool Jaguar F-Type Project 7. However, there’s a catch.

Being full grown men, we can’t actually fit inside the Fisher-Price Power Wheels Ford F-150. On another note, our sensible side tells us that a full-size F-Series pickup is slightly more practical and can seat more than two kids. But c’mon, you can’t deny you’ve always wanted such a toy when you were just a toddler without a worry in the world.

Remember how badly you wanted a ride-on toy car at the time when all you could say was ‘ga-ga’? Some of us sort of quenched our thirst for that by building wood and cardboard pedal go-karts together with our dads. Although fun, that doesn’t really compare with a properly built toy car such as the Fisher-Price Power Wheels F-150, which runs on electricity, not muscle power.

But that was that and nostalgia trips are only good in small quantity, so let’s move on and go a little bit through the Power Wheels F-150, shall we? Ford engineers shared rough exterior designs of the 2015 Ford F-150 to the people over at Fisher-Price some nine months before the truck was presented at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Moreover, this toy is officially licensed by Ford and will join some 400 other licensed bits and bobs such as model cars, pinball machines, pool tables, power tools and even Mustang cologne.

If you feel like giving your kid the best present ever, you might be interested to find out that the two-seater all-electric toy truck will be available in the U.S. starting this September for a slightly hefty $349.99.
