Earlier we were reporting that the FA20 platform of the Toyota GT 86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ will receive add-on power booster packages from iconic engineering company Cosworth. Well, the wait is over as the first kit is already available, with more goodies to come soon.
Cosworth just announced the first anti-hp-frustration pack for the FA20 engine has been released. The brand shifted focus from making individual parts to creating complete specially engineered performance packages for different sportscars and the 86 coupe is among them.

The engineering firm designed multiple packs to increment the GT 86/FR-S/BRZ's power and turn the trio into real 380 bhp track demons. However, you'll need to wait a bit more for that, because only the Stage 1 package has been released so far.

The starter kit is said to offer a power increase of 11.6 percent over the stock setup. Do the math and you'll discover that the original 197 ponies are turning into a healthy 230 bph stable, which should be enough to beat those hot hatches giving you trouble in a straight line.

Stage 1 is all about exhaust and further engine calibration, coming with a free flow sport exhaust, a “Powered by Cosworth” calibration file, a performance filtration solution with low temperature thermostat and an exclusive Cosworth badge.

General pricing hasn't been announced, as it may differ depending on the distributor or dealer you choose.
