The Daily Mail has obtained footage from the surveillance cameras at the recently opened Istanbul Airport in Turkey, of a woman walking right on to the luggage belt. Apparently, she thought that was where she could board her flight from.

Predictably, she soon found out that she was wrong and made a complete fool of herself, but here’s to hoping she wasn’t seriously hurt. The video is also available at the bottom of the page.

It shows the woman holding up several bags, looking over at the staff at check-in. Then, as if wondering why all those people are just standing there and not rushing to get on the plane, she steps on the ramp leading up to the luggage conveyor belt.

At the end of it, she sees a couple of suitcases move past her. She seems surprised that there’s luggage and not people on the conveyor belt, but she steps on it either way. Unfortunately for her, while airport staff is clearly too shocked to react, she loses her balance and falls within moments.

It’s only then that staff rush to help her out. The report doesn’t say if she was hurt, but she couldn’t have possibly harmed herself too badly based on what we can see in the video.

Speaking of which, perhaps the most baffling part about it is that two trained professionals, one man and one woman, together with at least one (male) passenger don’t even move to stop the woman from heading towards the luggage belt. They simply look on and only intervene when she’s already on her bum.
