First RWB Porsche Built in the United States Can Be Yours for $219,888

As opposed to Singer Vehicle Design, Rauh-Welt Begriff has a fundamentally different philosophy as to what a 911 should be like. From a mere Japanese tuner to a worldwide phenomenon, RWB got to to be what it is today thanks to the vision of one man.

His name is Nakai-san and, for all intents and purposes, Nakai took RWB from a run-of-the-mill body shop in the Chiba Prefecture to a company with offices in places as far apart as the United States and Thailand. Considering that each car is made according to the customer’s wishes, it’s not often that you meet an RWB Porsche 911 in real life, let alone find one for sale.

The car featured in this story is #RWB 1 in Mignonette Green. Also known as Pandora One,” this particular Neunelfer is the first RWB Porsche built in the United States of America. Now on sale for $219,888 courtesy of GT Auto Lounge in California, this awe-inspiring machine is worth every cent.

Based on a 1990 Porsche 911, RWB Pandora One’s visual modifications flow with the car’s original lines. Even the Bosozoku-style ducktail wing sits on top of the engine bay like an OEM part, not an afterthought. The oversized wheel arches house 17-inch Rotiform MLW wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 rubber. Brembo brakes are also on the menu, chiefly because the 450 horsepower 3.6-liter flat-six is enhanced by an FFTEC turbo kit. The oomph is further kept in check by an all-wheel-drive system and KW suspension.

The interior, on the other hand, is garnished with single-piece racing seats, Takata five-point harnesses, as well as a wood-rimmed steering wheel from Momo. I’m not too sure about the dime-a-dozen stereo, though. A Porsche Classic Navigation would’ve been a much better fit. Another oddity you can notice inside is that pull straps and electric windows make for a quirky combo.

On that note, would you spend your money on an RWB Porsche built by Nakai-san or wait for the 991.2 GT2 to make its long-due debut?
