The first retail 2015 Ford Mustang GT will be auctioned off for charity during an event organized by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona next month.
The brand new musclecar will be offered at no reserve, with all proceeds to benefit JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), the country's leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
"We're kicking off the next 50 years of Mustang in style with a 2015 model featuring a sleek all-new design, world-class performance and innovative technologies," says Steve Ling, North America car marketing manager for Ford. "We're thrilled to be able to take advantage of Mustang's popularity to help achieve the dream of ending juvenile diabetes."
The 2015 Ford Mustang GT will cross the block in Scottsdale on January 18.
The sixth-generation pony was unveiled on December 5 with an evolutionary design and more tech than ever before, including Intelligent Access, SYNC, MyFord Touch, Track Apps, MyColor gauges and Blind Spot.
The Mustang GT will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that will deliver “more than 420 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque”.
