We wrote about BMW's new project in collaboration with its Chinese partner, Brilliance, as far back as April. Back then, we told you that the so-called Zinoro brand will be sold exclusively to China.
This week the first set of spyshots with the new car leaked online. This new vehicle is supposed to be the first one in a series of new-energy powered cars destined exclusively for the Communist country.

As far as we can tell, it's based on the BMW X1 and it might be the same as the car we spotted in Sweden a while back, the one that had no tailpipes whatsoever. Back then we didn't know what to make of it but now we're getting closer to the answer.

However, the shots we're showing you today, were taken in China. That means that the Zhi Nuo X1 will most likely inherit most of the BMW DNA that was put to the test in Sweden (if it's not actually the same car entirely).

The future of BMW in China seems to be shaping up pretty well. Recent numbers posted on-line show that the Chinese market is rapidly growing, being just shy of overtaking the USA in terms of sold cars.

Furthermore, the recent €100 million investment announced by the German company for the Asian country proves their intentions are serious. Making this new car a success might even bring a lot more profits in the near future.
