First Look Inside the Plant Where They're Building Elon Musk’s Hyperloop – Video

There has to be a reason folks over at Hyperloop Technologies – which is the company making Elon Musk’s transportation device – released a video about their facility. They claim it’s the visual introduction of the place where the high-speed, intercity transporter using a low-pressure tube train is becoming reality.

To be honest, it rather sounded like a collection of changing-the-future talks filmed with the so-called best engineers on the planet working together in this facility. Other than multiple monitors all with the Hyperloop logo on them, we haven’t seen much, to be frank.

It is, however, the first time we get some actual visuals from the place where, in theory, the world’s first functional model will be unveiled. And that moment apparently is about a year away from happening.

Meanwhile, we could start talking about real facts such as the start-up’s decision to name former Cisco top executive Rob Lloyd the new CEO. That happened a couple of days ago and was announced through a blog post made by Lloyd himself. Here’s how the post sounds like:

“After spending 10 years as an entrepreneur, followed by 20 years growing up in a small company called Cisco that became big and changed the world, I am fired up by the opportunity to change the world again.“ Does that mean these people are serious about the Hyperloop?

Well, whatever it means, one thing is sure: if traveling with 700 mph (1,126 km/h) becomes reality then there’s going to be a huge change in the automotive industry too. Until then, you could check out the video below and get to know their newest innovation campus located in Downtown Los Angeles Arts District.

Apparently, every aspect of the Hyperloop system is invented and tested within the walls of this 55,000- square foot office and light manufacturing area. For the larger hardware, the company is also using 2.5 acres close to the facility.
